Same prompt, different AI.

We give different AI models the exact same build in Moxel and compare what comes out. One try each, no edits by hand. It shows how much the model you pick changes the result.

make a super cool lobby for a minecraft server using moxel

Claude Opus

Best overall⏱ 76,909 blocks$1.21

The strongest composition. A tall spire with a spiral and a ring, four portal arches around it and paths out to satellite islands, so it reads at a glance. Under a third of Fable's time for a lobby that's nearly as good; the outer islands are just a little bare.

Claude Fable

Most polished⏱ 171,585 blocks$5.10

The most detailed, and it looks like a real server lobby, but it took three times as long as Opus. A domed rotunda in the middle, colour-coded portal gates around the plaza, cherry trees placed with intent, and an island with real depth underneath: layered rock, crystals and a waterfall off the edge.

Claude Sonnet

Good ideas⏱ 18,294 blocks$0.86

All the right ideas: floating islands, a ring of coloured portals, an orb on a tower and a bridge. Thinner on detail, and the sky is dotted with loose floating blocks.

Claude Haiku

Basic⏱ 19,377 blocks$1.45

A clean layout, but not much more: a flat paved disc with a frame, one pillar and two trees. Fast and cheap, and it shows.

What it shows

Building in 3D takes a lot of planning. Bigger models plan more, check their work and keep adding layers: each step up goes from a layout, to themes, to structure, to polish. That planning takes time: Fable spent 12m 37s on its lobby, Haiku 1m 20s. Opus hit the sweet spot: close to Fable's quality in 4m 2s for $1.21, under a quarter of Fable's $5.10.

For your own builds: pick your app's strongest model and turn its thinking or reasoning up as high as it goes. Fast or free models tend to make simpler, blockier builds.
