Connect your AI

Give your AI a Minecraft toolbox

Moxel plugs into the AI app you already use. Pick yours, follow two or three steps, and ask it to build. Nothing to download or install.

    2. Try your first build

Paste one of these into your AI. Open the app in another tab first: you'll see every block land as it builds.

StarterWith Moxel, build a cozy fishing village on a lake shore: five small houses with different roofs, a wooden dock with boats, and lanterns along the paths. Render it at golden hour.
ShowpieceWith Moxel, make a floating island with a wizard tower, waterfalls pouring off the edges and roots hanging underneath. Show me a hero shot at sunset.
Play itWith Moxel, build a small castle with a gatehouse, four towers and a courtyard. Add markers for the gate and the throne room, then export it as a world I can play.

Better model, better builds. Building in 3D takes a lot of planning, so results depend on the AI you use. Pick your app's strongest model and turn its thinking or reasoning up as high as it goes. Fast or free models tend to make simpler, blockier builds.

Advanced: run the MCP on your own computerFor worlds straight into your saves folder and sending files from your PC

Instead of connecting to the server address above, your AI app can run a small file on your computer that talks to your Moxel account. Same tools, same maps. It's worth it when you want:

    • Worlds straight into Minecraft. Ask for a world and it's installed in your saves folder, ready in Singleplayer. No download link, no unzipping.
    • Files from your computer. Your AI can import a .schem, .litematic or .nbt from your disk, or add in-game screenshots to a build you shared.
    • Everything from the chat. Exports land in a folder you name, without a trip to the website.

It needs Node.js 20 or newer, and an API key.

    1. Check Node.js. In a terminal, node -v should print v20 or higher. If not, install it from nodejs.org and open a new terminal.
    2. Download the file and save it where it can stay.
    3. Register it with your app. The commands use the folder above and your key.
    4. Restart the app, then watch step 3 above turn green.
Moxel Models beta Paid accountsMobs, items, weapons and vehicles, made by your AI. What's in the beta

Models has its own small MCP file during the beta. It runs on your computer and talks to your Moxel account with your API key, so exports and resource packs land straight on your PC. Watch your models in the editor at moxel.gg/models.

Needs Node.js 20 or newer, an API key, and a Pro or Studio plan.

    1. Download the file and save it where it can stay.
    2. Register it with your app, with your key and the folder you saved it in:

      Claude Code

      claude mcp add moxel-models -e MOXEL_API_KEY=mx_your_key -- node "C:\path\to\moxel-models-mcp.mjs"

      Codex

      codex mcp add moxel-models --env MOXEL_API_KEY=mx_your_key -- node "C:\path\to\moxel-models-mcp.mjs"

Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop and other apps (MCP config JSON)

      { "mcpServers": { "moxel-models": { "command": "node", "args": ["C:\path\to\moxel-models-mcp.mjs"], "env": { "MOXEL_API_KEY": "mx_your_key" } } } }
    3. Restart the app and ask it for a model, like "make a blocky fire golem with glowing eyes and a walk animation".

The Use tab (holding, wearing and riding models, rigs and procedural motion) comes with the full release.

    Questions

Sign in with the browser, or an API key?

Both connect the same way and have the same limits. Signing in is easiest: there's nothing to copy, and you can disconnect the app any time on your account page. A key is one command for terminal apps and works anywhere you can set a header. Treat a key like a password; anyone with it can build in, and delete, your maps.

Which AI is best at building?

Any app that supports MCP tools works. Bigger, newer models plan better builds and check their renders more carefully. If one gets stuck, ask it to render the build and look at it, or to use photo for close-ups.

Does my AI app need a paid plan?

Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Cursor and VS Code work with whatever plan their AI uses. Claude's custom connectors work on every Claude plan. ChatGPT's developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan. Moxel's free plan is enough to try everything.

    It's not connecting

Each app has its own checklist in the troubleshooting guide. The usual fix is restarting the app after adding Moxel, or signing in again. Still stuck? Ask in the Moxel Discord.
